Please don't put your child's naked pictures online.........anywhere!  I recently discovered online, a naked picture of a distant relative's child.  This is causing me a lot of distress.  I've told the family my concerns, but the picture remains on MySpace where it is common knowledge what school these parents went to school, which could make it easier for a predator to locate this child.

I've discussed my concerns with members of Psych Central, a large Mental Health website.  Some members say parents do this because they love their child and are proud of their child and want to show off their child.  Others say parents are trying to teach their child to have a healthy view of sex and their bodies.  In my opinion, and that of many other members of Psych Central, when it comes to putting a child's naked picture on the Internet, their number one concern needs to be to protect their child from possible predators.  If parents don't protect their children, who will?

Another concern which parents need to consider is how will your child feel someday, knowing that you put these pictures on the Internet for anyone and everyone to see?  Many of us suffered embarrassment as children when our parents showed intimate pictures of us to family members or close friends.  I urge you to consider your child's feelings and more importantly their safety, and keep your naked photos of them in an album at home.

Predators will find online pictures and use them for their own purposes even if they never attempt to have contact with the child.  As a senior citizen, mother of four and grandmother of two, I believe I have the knowledge, experience and wisdom that is required to give advice to young parents.  Please do not put your child's naked pictures on the Internet!

I try my hand at writing poetry when I'm especially depressed.  I wrote this poem a few years ago when I was going through a bad spell of depression and sadness.  The past few days have been a bit troublesome for me and I thought of this poem again and decided to share it with you. 

We share our stories sad and true
sometimes we don't know what to do.
We cry, we moan, we wail and whine
and even lose all track of time.

Our friends stick by us while we heal
they understand our pain is real.
They know we must express that pain
in order to feel whole again.

Depression such a lonely place
where all of us have shown our face.
We hold our heads up as we try
to grab some hope as it goes by.

And if at first we don't succeed
we'll try again and then indeed
we shall get well, we will be glad
we need not be forever sad.

I wish that we could vow tonight
to share our strengths and hold on tight,
to take each other by the hand,
to help each other understand
there's hope for all.

Avon has a new "Mark" product called Chocolate Orchid. Actually, there are several products in this fragrance and it is scrumptious! I'm a huge fan of chocolate of the edible kind so this product appealed to me immediately.

First I have to tell you about the Chocolate Orchid body butter. This stuff comes in a large, flat 6.7 oz. jar and it looks just like chocolate mousse. It smells like something you might want to eat as well. It smells just like chocolate and I love it. Don't let your really young children get a hold of this!

The Chocolate Orchid fragrance is also available in a product called moisture milk which is a light lotion that will moisturize your skin with this yummy fragrance. There is also a dry oil mist in Avon's delicious new scent which also moisturizes your skin. I haven't personally tried the moisture milk or the dry oil mist but I'm sure they will be on my list of products to try soon.

I like the Chocolate Orchid scent mist spray which goes on like a cologne spray but it also moisturizes and contains vitamins A, B and C. This Avon "Mark" product line continues with a 6.7 oz. show wash and a customizable candle. When you order the candle you receive a glass jar, 2 wicks and 2 bags of wax beads. One bag is bright pink and the other is the color of "chocolate".

If you've never tried Avon's line of "Mark" products, this would be a wonderful time to give one a try. The Chocolate Orchid fragrance is a huge hit with me.

I'm excited about something new that is happening in my business, selling Avon.  Avon's first Global Ambassador was announced last week: She's movie star Reese Witherspoon.  I've enjoyed watching Reese in the movies since she was a little girl.  I think she will be a great celebrity to encourage women to try Avon and to support the Avon charities.  Two of Avon's charities are: Fighting Breast Cancer and Battling Domestic Violence.

I'm hopeful that this will eventually mean more business for each Avon Representative, including myself.  Hope is what I needed this week when I made all of my Avon deliveries in the 98 degree weather here in the Midwest.  I was so fatigued from getting in and out of the hot car.....a difficult task at anytime for someone with arthritis.   I felt totally overheated after walking the neighborhood delivering Avon Brochures.   I needed hope and water!  ha!

I do love being an Avon Representative.  It has greatly improved my self esteem.  It has also helped with my never ending struggle of fighting off depression.  I have to admit though, that I have quite a bit of stress and anxiety when meeting deadlines and offering the best service possible to my customers.   I  push myself a little more each campaign in an effort to overcome this anxiety.   The more I do, it seems like the more I can do next time. 

Struggling to make a profit is sometimes discouraging when having your own business.   That's why I was very happy to read the announcement of Avon's first Global Ambassador.  Reese Witherspoon and Avon will be an awesome combination!   It can only lead to better things to come for me and all Avon Representatives.
